Welsh man jailed for hiding dead mother in freezer for years
Christopher Phillips kept his 89-year-old mother Sylvia in a chest freezer at their Porthcawl home after she died in March 2023. Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard he collected about £78,200 in her pension and benefits while hiding her death from doctors and police. Judge Lloyd-Clarke jailed the 60-year-old for two years and four months after he admitted three offences.
