Welsh 15-year-olds scored lower than other UK teenagers in 2023 Pisa tests
The 2023 Pisa study showed Welsh 15-year-olds scored lower in maths, reading, and science than other UK teenagers. Over 30% of Welsh pupils scored below the required reading level, which one expert called "catastrophic" for their job prospects. Education Minister Anna Brychan said the results are "not where we want them to be" and will release a new plan next week.
