Weight-loss drugs push whey protein prices to record highs

Whey protein prices are soaring to record levels as more people use popular weight-loss drugs, causing a global shortage. Health experts advise those on GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro to eat more protein to help keep muscle while losing weight. This has pushed food-grade whey powder prices in Europe to a record high of €1,700 per tonne.
