Watchdog asks for public views on Sky's £1.6bn takeover of ITV

The two media giants argue that judging them purely on television commercials ignores major competition from digital platforms and streaming. The Competition and Markets Authority, Britain's business watchdog, began looking into the proposed sale on Wednesday by asking for public comments. A combined group would capture about 70% of traditional broadcast sales, with the deal expected to close in late 2027.
