Chester Zoo python first snake to get human cancer treatment

Jodie Foster, a 23-year-old reticulated python at Chester Zoo, has recovered following electrochemotherapy treatment for a tumour in her jaw. Vets adapted the human cancer treatment for the 40kg, 15-foot snake after surgery in 2024 failed to stop the growth returning. A final check this week found no signs of the cancer, and Jodie's appetite has returned to normal.
