US Sends Top Airborne Commander Amid Ground War Fears

Ground operations in Iran are possible as the US expands its military presence. Maj. Gen. Brandon Tegtmeier, chief of the 82nd Airborne Division, and his headquarters staff have been ordered to the Middle East while the White House decides on broader troop deployment. Around 2,500 Marines aboard three ships including the USS Boxer are also heading to the region.
