Unilever protects European food staff for two years following $65 billion McCormick merger
The deal secures pay and conditions for about 4,800 UK and European employees until the middle of 2029. An employee council negotiated the longer protection because standard laws usually allow contracts to be rewritten a year after a corporate sale. The global trade union federation IUF is now pushing for staff outside Europe to get the exact same promises.
