UK’s ARIA funds 18 projects for high-altitude internet aircraft
Eighteen projects aimed at developing high-flying aircraft capable of providing internet connectivity are receiving support from the UK's Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA). These aircraft, known as high-altitude pseudo-satellites (HAPS), aim to provide an alternative to orbital satellites for underserved areas. The initiative, spanning three and a half years, involves a £70 million investment.
