UK to get increased rain and storms this autumn from strongest El Niño
The Met Office, the UK's national weather service, says this El Niño event is likely the strongest in over a century, with Pacific sea temperatures expected to rise by 3C. The "unprecedented" weather pattern means 2027 is very likely to be the hottest year on record globally. Increased rainfall and storminess are forecast for the UK this autumn, particularly around November.
