The UK plans to boost its military transport fleet by over 50% as its current ships near the end of their lives. Four Point-class vessels, like MV Eddystone, are getting refits to keep them running until 2031. The new ships, due between 2026 and 2030, will have more capacity and stronger decks for heavy vehicles.
