UK schools close due to snow and ice.
Due to severe winter weather, schools have closed across Scotland, northern England, and Wales. Aberdeenshire, Moray, and Shetland saw dozens of schools shut. The Met Office has put yellow warnings for snow and ice in place, stretching from the Highlands down to Yorkshire. Overnight snowfall impacted Aberdeen, disrupting transport. Rail services face cancellations. Some roads are reportedly impassable. Temperatures in rural Scotland dipped to -10°C. Closures are expected to continue.
