UK house prices rise 0.2% in August, first jump since April

Average UK house prices rose in August, marking an increase after a four-month period of decline, Nationwide reported. The building society said the average price of a home rose by 0.2% month-on-month to £275,465. The August increase follows three months of falling prices, with annual growth at 1.6%.
