UK heatwaves in May and June may have killed over 2,700 people

Heat-related issues are estimated by experts to have caused over 2,700 deaths during the unusually hot weather. Most deaths are thought to have happened in June, which was England's warmest on record, seeing temperatures hit 37.7C in Norfolk. A "heat dome" caused both heatwaves, which scientists believe was worsened by human-induced climate change.
