UK Athletics fined £350,000 over athlete's avoidable death

UK Athletics has been fined £350,000 after a Paralympian's death was called "wholly avoidable" during a training session. Abdullah Hayayei, 36, died in July 2017 when a 440lb practice throwing cage fell on him at a London leisure centre. The court heard the cage was set up incorrectly, missing its base plate, and was an "accident waiting to happen".
