Trump trade rules leave UK firms paying higher US tariffs than the EU

Donald Trump lowered the European Union's blanket import levy from 15% down to 10% late on Thursday. Because Keir Starmer's existing trade agreement only protects specific British industries like cars, everyday exports like clothing will cost Americans more. A British jumper now carries a combined 22.5% tax, while an identical European sweater crosses the border at exactly 10%.
