Trump imposes 15% tariff on polysilicon imports

America will add a 15% import tax on polysilicon products from December to help its own manufacturers. President Trump signed an executive order on Thursday, also establishing minimum import prices for the material used in semiconductors and solar panels. China, which holds a near monopoly on polysilicon, stated this action disrupts trade and will safeguard its companies.
