Train drivers on Avanti West Coast get 3.6% pay rise
Train drivers on Avanti West Coast routes have secured a 3.6% pay rise, 0.7 percentage points above the latest inflation rate. The agreement, reached on Saturday with the Aslef union, additionally provides for Sunday work to be remunerated at one and a half times the standard rate. Prime Minister Andy Burnham approved the agreement, the first of his premiership, after the union threatened strike action.
