Top list of 2025’s weakest passwords
A Comparitech analysis of over two billion leaked credentials revealed that simple passwords like “123456”, “password”, “admin”, and “1234” remain the most commonly used in 2025. Terms such as “Minecraft”, “qwerty”, and “India@123” also ranked among the top 100 globally. Researchers warned that 65.8% of passwords were shorter than 12 characters, making them easier to crack. The report urges users to adopt longer, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication to strengthen online security.
