A leaked internal report reveals TikTok intentionally kept algorithm safety features from about 15 million US users in 2022. The withholding was part of an experiment to see how safety measures affected daily active user numbers. Tragically, a 16-year-old in the unprotected group saw thousands of suicide videos before his death.
