Thurrock and Birmingham Lead List of UK's Worst Uninsured Driving Areas

Motor Insurers Bureau data reveals Thurrock in Essex as the worst area for uninsured driving in the UK, with multiple Birmingham postcodes dominating the worst 15 areas. West Midlands accounts for eight hotspots, while other problem areas include Peterborough, Manchester, Belfast and Havering. Statistics show someone is hit by an uninsured driver every 20 minutes, with costs of £2.4 billion annually to the UK economy. Police seize around 130,000 uninsured vehicles annually, with nearly 120,000 seized so far this year.
