Students in Athens, Thessaloniki and other Greek cities joined a one-day teachers' solidarity strike on Wednesday, with some pitching tents outside parliament over the rising costs of education. Macron, speaking in Qatar, said people were "campaigning at France's expense", calling some comments on the unrest "stupid" without naming anyone. New cost-of-living protests are planned in France on Saturday, and another round on 5 November.
