Thameslink named Britain's most overcrowded train route
Department for Transport figures show the Thameslink service between Bedford and Three Bridges was Britain's most overcrowded route, running at 176% capacity into London St Pancras at 8:09am. The West Midlands line from Euston to Crewe followed at 170%, with Transport for Wales' Bridgend to Rhymney route at 161%. One in five passengers stood at peak hours nationally, rising to one in four in London.
