Teachers threaten nationwide strikes over pay offer

Teachers threaten nationwide strikes over pay offer

The NASUWT teaching union has warned it will mobilise its 300,000 members for industrial action unless the government agrees to improved pay and conditions. At its annual conference in Birmingham, the union passed a motion stating it would ballot for national strike action. Teachers are calling for a 'fully funded, real-terms above inflation pay increase' and reduced working hours. Junior doctors have also announced new strike dates.
