Swimming pool and car wash bans possible as drought declared across England

Drought conditions now encompass approximately 75% of England and the entirety of Wales, as some regions of the nation brace for a fifth heatwave. Southern Water has sought governmental authorisation to prohibit non-essential water consumption across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Should this be sanctioned, it would prevent commercial enterprises from actions such as cleaning vehicles with hosepipes or filling private swimming pools.
