Sweden Sends Patriot Shield To Guard Poland's Ukraine Aid Lifeline
Wikimedia Commons
Sweden will deploy Patriot air-defence systems and about 100 Swedish troops to protect Poland's Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, the hub that funnels military aid into Ukraine. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said the seven-month mission begins on 1 December, taking over from the Netherlands. Around 18,000 tonnes of equipment pass through the site every month. Its commander calls it Sweden's most complex mission since joining Nato in 2024.
