Streeting Announces 900,000 Children Get School Mental Health Support

Health Secretary Wes Streeting announced on 30 April that an extra 900,000 children can now access mental health support directly in schools without needing a GP referral. He also confirmed the government has recruited 8,500 additional mental health workers three years ahead of schedule. A further £473 million will be invested over four years in neighbourhood mental health centres and crisis care.
