Starmer resists resignation calls over Mandelson vetting

Starmer on Friday resisted demands he resign over the Mandelson vetting row, saying he was 'absolutely furious' at being kept in the dark and calling it 'staggering' and 'unforgivable.' He will set out the facts to Parliament on Monday. Chief Secretary Darren Jones confirmed the Foreign Office overruled the recommendation not to appoint Mandelson.
