Spain pushes offbeat regions as tourists near 100m

Spain is preparing for a record year with nearly 100 million visitors, prompting a shift away from crowded coastal areas. Tourism minister Jordi Hereu says old methods don't work, so Spain is using €3.4bn in EU funds to develop new regions. Last year, 96.8 million foreign tourists visited, spending €134bn, and new areas like Cantabria will be promoted.
