Spain expects 44C heatwave to last until Tuesday
Spain is set for its second heatwave of the summer, with temperatures potentially reaching 44C in some areas by Tuesday. The State Meteorological Agency issued an orange alert for much of the country, with the highest risk concentrated in the south-western mainland and the Canary Islands. A previous heatwave in June is estimated to have caused nearly 900 deaths in Spain.
