Southern train derails near Lewes, no serious injuries

A Southern Railway service from London Victoria to Eastbourne derailed near Lewes station in East Sussex at around 4pm on Thursday, August 13. The Department for Transport confirmed no serious injuries or fatalities among passengers. Southern suspended services between Brighton, Lewes, Haywards Heath, Seaford and Eastbourne, with disruption expected until 10pm and replacement buses running via Thameslink and Gatwick Express.
