Waterloo station was closed by staff on Thursday evening after a police incident near Woking shut the lines. By 8pm, South Western Railway was letting stuck passengers book their own taxis to places including Southampton Central and Exeter St Davids. Claims must be sent in within 28 days, with tickets and taxi receipts, and the lines reopened at 3.58am on Friday.
