Small fish in Mallorca bite swimmers and draw blood in shallow water
Holidaymakers visiting the island have found themselves targeted by tiny sea creatures leaving visible marks. Bathers in Illetas reported groups of people leaping up as the animals nipped them and broke the skin. Experts note that higher water temperatures and fish feeding habits often push these small species closer to the shore.
