Secret Yorkshire warehouse stores thousands of HS2 archaeological treasures

A confidential Yorkshire warehouse now houses 450,000 artifacts excavated along the HS2 rail route. Unearthed by 1,000 archaeologists since 2018, the collection includes a 40,000-year-old hand axe, 19th-century gold dentures, and a possible Roman gladiator’s tag.
