Secret Maduro intel led to soldier's $400k bet, 60-year charge
Trust in the handling of secret military information has come under scrutiny after a US soldier was accused of using it for personal profit. Federal authorities said on Thursday that Gannon Ken Van Dyke, who helped plan the January operation that captured Nicolás Maduro, was arrested after allegedly placing 13 bets on Polymarket. Prosecutors say the wagers brought in more than $400,000 and he could face up to 60 years in prison.
