Scotland to Draft War Book With UK Amid Russia Threat
Graphic: BriefTea
Scotland will help the UK draft a new War Book outlining how civilian services would respond to a major conflict. Defence chiefs warn Russia could threaten Nato by 2030. The Cabinet Office leads the update, due by the end of 2026, ahead of a 2027 home defence exercise. Scottish officials will help shape plans for health, transport and infrastructure while defence stays reserved to Westminster.
