Saturn will be brightest this year on October 4, visible all night

On October 4, Saturn will be at its brightest of 2026, shining at magnitude +0.3 and visible from sunset to sunrise. Saturn's brightness happens because Earth passes between the Sun and Saturn, an event called opposition. The planet will be about 1.26 billion kilometres from Earth, and its light will take around 70 minutes to reach us.
