Sánchez calls a November vote as Spain's housing fury boils over

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has called a snap general election for November 29, nine months early, after Congress last week rejected two emergency housing decrees aimed at protecting tenants. Nationwide protests over rents and evictions followed the eviction of 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal in Madrid. Sánchez admitted his government had made mistakes. Popular Party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo said the Spanish people would finally decide.
