Ryanair expects airfares to rise as it cuts two million winter passengers
The airline is trimming its schedule from November to March because average jet fuel prices recently hit roughly $156 per barrel. Bosses believe some rival carriers could collapse entirely this winter if fuel remains expensive following the conflict in Iran. While the Irish firm already secured most of next year's oil at $67 a barrel, it still expects short-haul tickets to become costlier.
