Reeves Warns Welfare Could Be Cut for Defence
UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves, speaking at the IMF spring meetings in Washington, warned that other budgets including welfare may be cut to increase defence spending. She ruled out raising taxes or adding to government borrowing, noting her past two budgets already raised taxes substantially and one in every £10 of government spending goes to servicing debt.
