Real or AI? Google Opens Its Fake-Spotting Tool to Everyone

Google has opened its SynthID detector to the public, letting anyone upload an image, video or audio clip to check whether it carries the hidden watermark stamped on content made by Google's AI tools. Previously limited to journalists and researchers, the site handles common file formats. Google says it already receives a million verification requests daily, though such detectors cannot reliably catch every AI-generated file.
