RAF Jets Join France in First Joint Nuclear Strike Drill

RAF Jets Join France in First Joint Nuclear Strike Drill

RAF Typhoon jets have taken part in a French nuclear deterrence exercise for the first time, escorting Rafale fighters on a simulated nuclear strike over the Mediterranean. The drill, called Exercise Rummy, ran from France's Saint-Dizier air base on 20 and 21 October, with no real weapons used. It follows the 2025 Northwood Declaration, under which Britain and France pledged closer coordination of nuclear forces.
