Rape and sex offence specialists on all police forces by 2027, PM says

The government is accelerating its schedule to ensure every police force in England and Wales has specialist investigators for rape and sex offences by the close of 2027. Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated the prior implementation, scheduled for summer 2029, was "too slow." Ministers must prioritise combating these offences, he added.
