Premier League clubs break summer transfer spending record again

English top-flight clubs spent £3.198bn this summer, surpassing last year's record of £3.14bn. This amount is significantly more than the £1.13bn spent just five years ago, showing the power of English clubs to attract talent. This summer saw four of football's 11 costliest player acquisitions, with three of these players joining Premier League clubs.
