Pound strengthens as the UK service sector returns to growth

A fresh S&P Global survey reveals business activity grew last month, pushing confidence to its best level since February when the Iran war began. At the same time, Finance Minister John Healey says the government has room to borrow extra billions for housing and infrastructure. Markets stayed calm on Wednesday, pushing the pound up slightly to trade at $1.347 against the dollar.
