Poland Pours $26bn Into Shelters as Patriots Head East

Poland will spend 102.4 billion zlotys, about $26.4 billion, on a five-year civil defence programme covering shelters, rescue bases, stockpiles, warning systems and secure water and energy supplies, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Monday. Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said Patriot air defence batteries will be stationed in the Lublin region bordering Ukraine, protecting Lublin airport and its air traffic amid repeated Russian airspace violations.
