The Oscar for Best Picture could recognise a technically inventive motor racing film despite historical academy preferences. Brad Pitt and Joseph Kosinski's F1 movie is a massive outsider for the award, given its mainstream nature and emphasis on technology over human input. It ranked 14th in North American box office for 2025, with its Apple TV+ ownership potentially affecting its cinematic presence.
