Pavel Durov says an extortionist planted CSAM in a chat to cause AppStore takedown

Apple removed the messaging app briefly on Monday night without giving staff any prior warning. Pavel Durov, the company's chief executive, said automated accounts edited an old message in a public group to hide the material from users. The tech boss warned that bad actors are now finding ways to trick major app stores into taking down legitimate groups.
