Parents charged after one-year-old boy died from severe malnutrition

Police in St Helens charged a mother and father over the death of their one-year-old son, Maero Johnson, by causing or allowing it. The boy died in hospital on August 23, 2023, with a post-mortem finding severe malnutrition. The parents also faced charges for child neglect and cannabis possession.
