Panama's government declared a state of emergency on Saturday after two strong earthquakes and over 100 aftershocks shook the country for hours. The 7.7 and 6.6 magnitude quakes on Friday caused widespread damage to homes, schools, and other buildings across all 10 provinces. Officials reported 27 people with minor to moderate injuries, but no deaths, with around 420 homes and public schools damaged.
