The revelation comes amid mounting lawsuits, including from parents of a 16-year-old who died by suicide after conversing with ChatGPT. The company claims its new GPT-5 model reduces harmful responses by 65-80% across mental health topics and achieves 91% compliance with safety protocols specifically for suicide-related conversations.
